Hi~~
I don't know about all of you , but this week has been BUSY and the time seems to be flying by. I planned to get this post out yesterday, but I just couldn't find enough time. I know Boo-Hoo for me right?? I am actually not complaining, but I do like to have some down time here and there. Nope...not this week.
Anyway, enough of all that. Here are few treasures of mine that have recently come in to my life. Some are new (meaning not vintage) and some are vintage. Regardless, I LOVE them all.
Ok, so this rug is one of those things that is a necessity, but when you have a GOOD necessity it is really GOOD~ My rug under my kitchen sink needed replacement badly. I had it for about 5 years and its days had come to an end. For being washed every single week sometimes more than once, it held up great. That is why my replacement is the exact same one:)
I know, your thinking, is she really blogging about her love for a kitchen sink rug??? Yes, I am. It is one of the simple things that bring joy. Have you ever bought a Dash and Albert Rug??? If not, I highly recommend them. The quality is fantastic. I have them in the kitchen, entry way and a big one under my dining room table. The one I have here is called Swedish Stripe. It is so yummy. Love the color blue and the creamy color. Ok, on to my next find......
Yet another "new" item. I purchased these two bowls at Home Goods. Have you ever been so fortunate to go to a Home Goods store???? The best ever. The prices are really reasonable and they have everything. Housewares only.
I think these bowls look like crowns. They were only $2.99 each. What a bargain. I imagined using them for parties for some nuts, hummus, chocolates etc. Well, my daughter and her friend had a better idea...
Ice Cream Sundaes~~~~~ I think they got it right. Delicious.
These three beauties I photographed together. They all came from separate places and I am so happy to have all of them. These are all vintage. You know when you buy something and then you later question if you should have purchased it???? THAT DID NOT HAPPEN HERE. No questions at all.
Ok, here is where I found all of this. The little blue stool that is really chippy is from an estate sale that I went to last week. It was hiding in the garage. Luckily, my friend Kelly spied it for me. It had several webs on it, but that did not deter me. Thanks goodness it didn't come with a scary black widow. YUCK!! I know have it in my downstairs bathroom and it looks perfect.
That is a beautiful Shabby Chic looking vintage tablecloth that I purchased from Rachel at French Farmhouse 425. It is the perfect shade of pale blue and has the most simple flowers all over it. I had to have it the second I saw it come on her shop. She always has great items for sale.
Ok, how cool is this vintage Swedish book??? When I saw it arrive in Mary's Shop Urban Farmgirl I didn't hesitate..it had to be mine. I really don't know why, but I just loved this book. It is was even better in person. I have NO idea what the title says. Do any of you???
It sits in my kitchen with my two vintage cookbooks. I think the color combination is just right:) What do you think???
And last , but certainly not least, I had the privilege to go on an outing with my mom last week to Country Roads Antiques in Orange, California. This place is so fantastic. The eye candy is to die for. I could have spent all day there going booth by booth. We did not have all day;( I will be back again to spend more time there. It was truly delightful and it was really fun being with my mom.
Here it is......
Of course I could not go away empty handed. But, I have to say that I showed MAJOR self control. However, when I saw this piece, I could not resist.
You know I love shutters and this one had my name all over it. The booth I got it at was Blossom Vintage Chic It is one of the bigger spaces at Country Roads, but It is so......gorgeous. Since I bought the piece I have been in contact with Debbie (the owner and ultra stylist). She is so sweet.
It is the perfectly chippy:))
I haven't found the perfect spot for it yet. I have been too busy to focus on it. I'll post later where it ends up. It is too special of a piece to not be in a fabulous spot in my home. To be continued......
If you ever get the chance to make it to Orange and Country Roads, you won't be disappointed. Really cute town and awesome shop!! BTW~~my friend Melinda from Alabaster Rose Designs has a beautiful space here too.
Happy Treasure Hunting
