Happy Sunday~
I hope you are all enjoying the long weekend. Things have been pretty low key here. My husband had to work all weekend so we stayed put here. Kind of a bummer since moist people took off for the long weekend. Luckily my son had some baseball practices and I have been working on getting my daughters room ready for the Big REDO. Today we are headed to my in laws house to see some of the cousins. The kids are so excited. So am I because my sister in law, Kirstin will be there too and we haven't seen them in so ...long:)
Ok, so I have to say that I am a big copycat. A couple of weeks ago I came across this awesome French ladder at a store in La Canada called Julie O'Keefe Home and Garden. I fell in love with it. I wanted it. It had just the right amount of a chippy slate colored blue on it. Perfect for me..right?? But, I REALLY had no clue what to do with it.
Then I remembered...... I had seen a ladder similar to this one in Tracey's home from French Larkspur. She hung grain sacks from it. I love grain sacks and French towels and I think Tracey's style is one of the best around. So......... I bought the ladder.
I added some grain sacks and French towels and put it in my kitchen.
It fit perfectly in the eating area of my kitchen. It was made for my house.... I think.
Love this paint color
Thanks to Tracey for all the inspiration... hope you don't mind:))
And of course, I can't resist some flower pics. These tulips are from Trader Joe's and they are on my kitchen table .Tulips really are "Happy Flowers". I just wish they would last a wee bit longer.
Ok, I promise just one more flower pic. I have to say that I love the way my camera photographs flowers. My camera is honestly one of the best gifts I have ever received. I am really enjoying it. Most of the pics I have taken so far are for the blog or my Etsy store. I can't wait to take it on a trip.
And.............
This past week I was super lucky and won TWO giveaways. Look what I got:
This fabulous pillow came from Kim at Bella Rustica. I says "Simplify" in Italian. Perfect for what I am trying to do this year.
All of these treasures came from Jessie at A Cozy Cottage In The City. Look what I did with the plates.
They are in my dining room. I flipped the one plate over. I like the back of it too.
What do you think?
Hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend
xo~Cheryl

I love that latter, and really you can so pull it off in your home. Congrats on the giveaway wins!! And where you live are you all celebrating President's Day?? Here in West Central FL they don't celebrate that holiday any longer with a day off work, but I can remember getting out of school as a young girl for that day. We used to celebrate our founding fathers now not so much. I miss that a lot. Thanks for linking up over at SweetTalkin' Sunday!!
ReplyDeleteLove the ladder and the tulips. Looks great.
ReplyDeleteBente

love the ladder & the tulips tooo
ReplyDeletethat blue ladder had your name on it, and it looks stunning in your kitchen. You know, I have seen MANY a ladder over the last 15 years or so, holding anything from towels in a bathroom, to quilts and table linens in the dining room. So that idea has been around a long time.
ReplyDeleteLove the tulips, and love the prices and variety at Trader Joe's for flowers.
By the way, the plates look great. I have seen a wall with all white serving platters turned around ones...I think it was in a house in Texas. Great idea.
I wish you a hayy week,
Evi
love where you placed the ladder. It looks great. Can't wait to see it in person.

ReplyDeleteThat ladder looks so pretty in there, especially with all those linens! I've had one in my dining room for quite awhile. I'm redoing things in there now though, so I'm not sure what I'll be doing with it. Hope you're having a good week :)
ReplyDeleteHello Cheryl,
ReplyDeleteGreat blog you have here! I love your style. I think we both like blue and white very much. :)
You found a fabulous ladder and it looks perfect with those towels and flowers in the foreground.
I found a similar ladder last fall, and did the same thing you did - copied Tracey's idea of hanging towels.
She's so good to emulate!
Take care - I'll be following. Happy White Wednesday!
- Susan

Beautiful ladder Cheryl and such pretty Tulips. Your giveaway wins are really nice too. The blue and white reminds me of my sweet mom. She loved decorating in those colors.

Cheryl! You won another giveaway at A Cottage Muse!!! Yay!!! Good for you!! :)
ReplyDeleteMaria
Some of the backstamps on transfer ware plates are as beautiful as the images on the front...after all the backstamps are transfer printed the same way the fronts are so they are sometimes every bit as artisitic! One that always comes to mind is Crown Ducal's Colonial Times which has a large stamp featuring an image of pilgrims...very cool. Love your display of plates and love that old ladder!
ReplyDeleteNancy
Love seeing your opaline chandy again! It looks so pretty with the ladder in the background~
