Christmas Cheer

Good Morning~~
I hope you are all enjoying the holidays! We had a such a fun Christmas. We started the celebrating down at my mom's house last Friday and finished with the last celebration at our house Tuesday night. We are so lucky to have a lot of family so the fun goes on and on and on. Yesterday, I could barely keep my eyes open. I think the fun times are starting to catch up with me. But,  it is all worth it. I love all the laughter, the loud noise(kids running around screaming) and the continuous smiles on everyones faces.
The Tuesday night dinner party was held at our house. We had 13 of my husband's family members here . BTW~ That is only half of the family. Here are some pics of the dining table. Unfortunately, our dining room is not the biggest so the kids sat in the kitchen. Maybe that is best:)))

Getting the table ready. I have my white tablecloth on the table with a blue stripe grain sack as the runner.
Love these milky blue glasses. These were used as the water glasses. I have them in clear and pink too.
The table was scattered with vintage Christmas ornaments. I can't get enough of these.
I used some of our vintage saucers to sit candles on. This one came from my daughter's room. She is in the process of redoing her room she was happy to give it up. No more saucers on the wall for her;((

I actually found some roses in the garden to use in these adorable hob nail vases. Much to my surprise, I have many roses that are ready to bloom outside. I guess it helps when it is 80 degrees in December.
Its time for dinner... the chandelier goes on......the candles get lit.....
And then my camera went crazy... not sure what setting I had it on, but this is how the pics came out. Not what I hoped for, but I kind of like it.
They are blurry, but I think it looks kind of romantic.

And then the camera setting changed. Mmmm.. well I am learning and the most important thing is that we had a great time and the food was yummy too.
This picture is a favorite from the night. This is the grandkids with their great grandma (Little Nonnie). Doesn't she look fabulous??????? She is 97.  Yes, my daughter is the one on the tank top dress. Not exactly December clothing:))

I hope you all have a wonderful New Year!!! I am really looking forward to 2012.

Welcome to everyone who recently joined my blog. I love reading all the comments. You all make my day!!

The Day Trip

Hi~ I don"t know about all of you, but I tend to get stuck in the same places sometimes. I live in the Pasadena area of Southern California and I don't venture out of the immediate surrounding cities too often. I do go see my family in Orange County, but honestly thats about it. I really don't know why because there are so many great places to go that are only minutes away.Well, last Friday I went on a "day trip" with a few friends to Hollywood/Los Angeles. For all of you who know these areas, this is almost laughable. Here are some photos of the "journey".
Our first stop of the day was at Rolling Greens Nursery in Hollywood. It was so beautiful. Don't these flowers look real??? Gorgeous. Unfortunately, we didn't bring our real cameras so all the photos were taken on our iPhones.
Hard to see in this photo , but this wreath had the most beautiful, vibrant ornaments on it. This nursery is located at an old tire shop. Ok, how gorgeous is the sky???? Can't get any better than that.
 More fake "Faux"  flowers.....
The nursery did have real flowers too, but the majority of things there were housewares and gifty items. It was so beautiful. I was in heaven.
Pretty soap display on the silver platter
This was a wall display.... Can you tell what is hanging here????
Tons of different colored tea bags. This was truly amazing . Who thinks of these things????
 Love this just because.
Here are some of the fabulous Christmas items. I really had to control myself. I think I only ended up with 4 ornaments. Not to shabby.

I loved this tree and I think this picture turned out kind of cool with the sunlight coming through the window.
Me and the clock. I WANT THIS CLOCK:) Too bad it was a bit too pricey. Oh well, I enjoyed admiring it.
After we left Rolling Greens we headed to grab something to eat at Joans on Third. The atmosphere of this restaurant was so fantastic. We sat outside and enjoyed the most beautiful day and had lots of laughs. After lunch we headed to a bakery that we had seen on our way to the restaurant. It was called Magnolia Bakery. The picture above is for the bakery. These are Mason Jars filled with different sprinkles. I cant believe we didn't take more pictures because we wanted to buy all their decorations. We were drooling over everything there. It was all done is pastels and it was so....charming. BTW~ They have the most yummy Banana Pudding.

This saying was at Rolling Greens and I love the meaning of this. It can represent  creativity, love, friendship, business etc.
I want to thank my friends for making me venture out of the area. I had the best day and can't wait to go back. We saw so many others places  to go back and check out.

Welcome to all my new subscribers and thanks to everyone for the nice comments.
Hope you all  find some relaxation during this week before Christmas.

A Very Merry "Pinkmas"

Hi Everyone~ Well, I am happy to say that as of today, I am about 99% done with all my Christmas shopping. Now if I can get the Christmas cards out tomorrow, I will be one happy gal. How's your shopping going???
This Christmas season I am loving decorating with PINK. I don't have too much, but what I have, I really, really like. This leads me to My Very Merry Pinkmas Post........
Did I mention that I LOVE vintage ornaments? Most of these came from The Rose Bowl Flea Market this past weekend. I think they look great just stacked up on this blue and white platter.
The imperfections make them so charming. I wonder whose home (s) they were in before they came to me???
This is our white feather "sweets" tree. All the ornaments are sweets of some sort. Can you guess which tree in my house the kids like most?? I admit I can't resist it either.
Images of the tree.....

Theres always room for gingerbread men
 or girls :))
These vintage ornaments are part of my older collection. They are displayed with my pink snowhouses.
Can you see my reflection in the ornaments???? I tried stay out, but no such luck.

Aren't these houses sweet?? Notice the little poodle in the front yard of this house??
Are you all "Pinked Out" yet????
These beauties were listed on our Etsy Shop today and sold with in one hour. Of course, I was happy to have the sale, but I would have loved to have them for myself. Am I getting greedy??
I got this ornament many, many years ago(probably 25 years ago). It is still a favorite.

This pink ornament is hanging on a tree that Dana (my Etsy Shop Partner) made as a display for our Christmas ornaments that we brought to boutiques that we did this Christmas season. More to follow on these  and how they were made and what from.
And just because I needed more I bought these today at a cute new shop in town called Cathleen Parker, Vintage

I just want to welcome and thank all my new viewers!!! I love getting all your comments and seeing new names. It truly makes my day:)

A special thanks to Maria at Dreamy Whites who mentioned my blog on her blog this week and continues to be such an inspiration. Thanks for all the helpful advice;)
and to Maria at Rusty Hinge for mentioning me on her blog this week and for being the first person who joined my blog that I didn't already know.

Have a wonderful day!!!
