Summer Garden

This summer has been unusual in Southern California, no hot days!! We NEVER used our air conditioner!! Well, until now.  It always heats up when the kids head back to school. Poor things!! Unfortunately, the lack of heat did a number on my roses and the garden in general. While I usually am able to pick one bouquet after another, this summer I found myself having to buy bouquets. I was able to capture some of the flowers when they were blooming nicely. At least I have the photos.
This butterfly was not scared of me at all. I love to plant flowers that attract butterflies and hummingbirds. To me there is nothing more peaceful.
Above is the Marilyn Monroe Rose!! It is a delicious creamy peach and it lasts so long.
These yellow roses are the David Austin Graham Thomas Roses. Love the bee!
Ok, so I am a little rose and flower crazy. This rose is The Melody Parfume Rose. The perfect mix of pink and purple.
I am typically not a geranium lover, but this flower is so cute. I love the white with the hints of pink. It looks perfect in this yellow pot.
Yet, another David Austin Rose. The Mary Rose. They are beautiful on the bush, but they don't last too long once they are cut. I have to appreciate them in the garden only.  Gardening is a passion of mine and I wish I had more time to do it. It is soothing and rewarding!
We all need to take time for ourselves and do the things we love. Time goes by so quickly! As my oldest (Blake) went off to middle school this week I realized truly how time does fly:)
Thanks for visiting.  Have a great day!

Finds At The Flea Market This Past Weekend

I was so fortunate to be up in the Bay Area this past weekend. I had a wonderful time with family and friends and as an added bonus I was able to make it to THE ALAMEDA FLEA MARKET!!! Yeah! I  try to go The Rose Bowl Flea Market each month so I  was super excited to try something new! Needless to say, it FAR surpassed all expectations.

Some of my wonderful finds... chippy chair, bistro chair, grain sacks, French enamelware candlestick, and a blue and white French transferware plate. Who could ask for more???
