Loving Etsy

Hi All~ I had to share some of the fantastic things I recently purchased through Etsy. I couldn't have been more thrilled to get home yesterday and find not one, but TWO packages on my doorstep. Imagine that, they all came the same day... I was like a kid in a candy store and couldn't wait to tear through them both. And when I did, I was ecstatic. Everything was even better in "real life". So........... I felt the need to share with you all.
This is a wood suitcase. It is tattered and distressed in all the right places. The handle is leather and I love the leather ties holding it all together. When  I saw this piece appear on Etsy I didn't hesitate for one second. It was in my cart as fast as I could get it there;)
The blue stripe running down the front couldn't be a better detail. I love this!!
Look at this leather strap.  The picture below if of the interior. It is even beautiful...a bit worn, but I love it that way. Can you tell that I am excited?

And then came the next package all the way from France. These 3 French blue and white plates are so gorgeous and this baby bottle with the blue writing is so precious. You know sometimes when you have buyers remorse??? Well, that was NOT me today. I was happy, happy, HAPPY!!!

I couldn't wait to get flowers into this little bottle. It truly makes me smile. The plates are all the same, but I guess I forgot to photograph all three. Oops!

For all of you who know or don't know, Etsy is such a fun place to shop! You truly can find just about anything and it feels great to support small businesses. My girlfriends and I started MySoulfulHome on Etsy about 6 months and it has been so much fun. We have met so may great people all over the world from it.

The luggage came from Frog Goes To Market on Etsy. Thank you Ellie
The plates and bottle came from La Pomme on Etsy.  Thank you Apol

Have a great evening and I hope you will come back and visit again soon.

The "Secret" Living Room

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are all having a great week. My week started off with a much needed  trip to Las Vegas with some friends. We were lucky enough to stay from Sunday - Tuesday. It was the perfect little getaway. We stayed at The Aria. I highly recommend this gorgeous hotel. It is sleek and modern , which is not necessarily MY decorating style, but I certainly appreciated it.Now back to the real world.......

This is my "secret" living room. I call it this because it is MY favorite room in the house and nobody goes in it! We all spend our time in the den and family room. I am not sure the rest of my family knows it exists:)

This chaise is the coziest spot and it is one of my oldest pieces in my home! As you can see I also have a LOVE for blue and white transferware and PILLOWS! I am a bit pillow crazy, but they are so comfortable and cozy. In my opinion they add warmth to a room.
I got this old cupboard about 12 years ago at an antique store. I love to fill it with candles, photos, white ceramics. It is always changing. The color is such a pretty blue and the best part is that it is chippy all over.

 And here is some more...........................

I love filling my old iron urns with shells. Iron urns are so beautiful and they have so many uses. You can fill them with plants, utensils, shells, towels, dried flowers, lavender, soaps etc. I have many of them both indoors and outdoors. Also, the rustier, the better:)
This pale blue candlestick and its pair was the first thing I ever purchased at a flea market (over a decade ago):)

Thanks for visiting my living room. I guess it is not  so "secret" anymore!
Enjoy the rest of the week.
:) Cheryl
I think my new camera may be coming SOON!!!!!
A special thank you to Maria Carr of Dreamy Whites for"Introducing "my blog on her fantastic blog!!!!

A Day of Reflection and Fantastic Finds

This Sunday I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the Rose Bowl Flea Market with a good friend. It was such a beautiful morning. The air was crisp (the perfect temp for the flea market) and there was a calm feeling all around. Such a contrast from that unforgettable morning 10 years prior. Although September 11, 2001 never left my mind that day, I felt at peace and thankful for all the heroes that have made it possible for all of us to actually feel peace again. We are blessed to live in this country:)

And, on top of that, the day started with an act of kindness. A lovely woman came up to my friend and I and handed us (2) free passes to enter that morning. $15.00 savings for each of us. So of course, that meant we had $15.00 more to spend:), and heres what I found.........................

This crock is huge! I LOVE it!!! I was told the cream bottle is an old ginger bottle. I was really having a cream kind of day!
This grain sack is so pretty . I love the red and white tie on it. I think I am going to open it up and use it for my table runner in my dining room...pictures to follow.
And it didn't end there, I have been looking for ONE more bistro chair to go in my dining room. Guess what?? I found one.............................It is chippy white and green (which was not ideal for me, but I love it and can paint it if I want). It was the Only one I saw that day...lucky me!

The roses and lavender are from my garden. The big cream and pink rose is called a Moonstone.

I hope you all have a great day and thanks for visiting. Come back again soon.

A Beautiful Day

Wishing everyone a beautiful and wonderful week. Now that I have FINALLY ( Yippee) figured out how to get my blog to all of you, more posts will be coming soon. In fact, I will be posting something else this week. I am so excited to begin this new journey and connect with all of you.

This picture was taken in Port Townsend, Washington last summer (2010). This blue bike was actually sitting up against this tree with the flowers already in the basket. This picture always makes me smile:) I hope it will do the same for you.
Thanks for visiting
